NGC 7635 Bubble Nebula in Cassiopeia

NGC 7635 is an emission nebula approximately 7100 lightyears distant. The bubble is the result of an outflow of material from a star with around 45 times the mass of the sun. The star is at the 8pm position in this image, asymmetrically placed within the bubble because of the differing density of the surrounding nebula, in different directions.

In this HSO image hydrogen has been mapped to red, sulphur to green and oxygen to blue. It is the result of 8 hours of narrowband data capture from Horsham, over 5 evenings in August and September 2024. A ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera was used, through an 8-inch Teleskop-Service Ritchey-Chretien reflector.
