NGC 4395 in Canes Venatici
NGC 4395 is a low surface brightness (LSBG) dwarf spiral galaxy, one of the nearest and least luminous of the Seyfert galaxies. It is 14 million lightyears distant and approximately 55,000 lightyears in diameter.
It appears to contain an intermediate-mass black hole, of between 4,000 and 20,000 solar masses.
This LHaRGB image is the result of 13h of data capture from Horsham, over 8 evenings during February to April 2026. This comprised 9h of LRGB and 4h of Ha imaging. A ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera was used, through an 8-inch Teleskop-Service Ritchey-Chretien reflector.
