NGC 1977 Running Man Nebula in Orion

This is a mix of red hydrogen emission nebulosity, and blue reflection nebulosity. The nebula is at the same distance as M42 the Great Nebula in Orion, at around 1500 lightyears. Some M42 nebulosity can be seen in the lower right of the frame.

This LRGB image is the result of 70 minutes of data capture on an evening in December 2021, remotely imaged from Spain with an SBIG STL-6303 camera through a 12.5-inch Planewave CDK reflector.
