This reflection nebula is around 1300 lightyears distant and 6 lightyears in size. The dust that comprises the nebula gains its blue colour because it reflects the light from the blue-white star SAO 19158 at the centre. Dark nebulosity can be seen surrounding the blue reflection nebulosity.
This LRGB image is the result of approximately 4h of data capture, over two evenings in September 2021. It consists of 2h of capture through a luminance filter and 2h of capture in RGB, equally split between channels. A total of 234 one-minute exposures were integrated, from a ZWO ASI2600MM Pro camera though an 8-inch Teleskop-Service Ritchey-Chretien reflector.
